If you haven't guessed already, music pretty much rules my life. So here's more of that. I love the celebrity playlists on itunes, where musicians and actors explain the songs they love. Well, I'll probably never be famous enough to have a real one on itunes but i spent some time whipping up my own playlist to post on facebook. Anybody who's anybody is on facebook! Enjoy! PS - My shuffle picked the order of the songs, thereby convincing me of it's magic. All hail the shuffle.

1 PRECIOUS ILLUSIONS - ALANIS MORISSETTE
I heard this song in eighth grade before my mind was corrupted by 3-4 of tv a day. The very idea of "precious illusions: appealed to my imagination. Now, listening to the lyrics only affects me even more.

2 LET MY LOVE OPEN THE DOOR - PETE TOWNSEND
This song has such a great beat and a bright sound! So much fun to dance to. I also work out to this sound. It makes me feel like I can go forever.

3 MAYBE YOU'RE RIGHT - CAT STEVENS
I've never met a Cat Steven's song I didn't like, but I feel like he's singing this one directly to me. It's a regretful song, but it helps me keep things in perspective.

4 IT'S AMAZING - MINDY SMITH
When I listen to this song, I think of my mom. There's so much acceptance in it. Even though I'm not perfect, she loves me.

5 FIDELITY - REGINA SPECTOR
I heard this song last semester. Wow. It's like she wrote a song that embodies the way I feel about love exactly. And we've never met. Plus, it's a real fun sound!

6 FAT MAN IN THE BATHTUB - LITTLE FEAT
I played a character named Juanita in highschool and my dad always sang this song whenever I mentioned it. My dad has a song for everything. And what a great title

7 YOU LEARN - ALANIS MORISSETTE
The message of this song is one that will inspire me forever. Oh to live! To live!

8 PASSENGER SEAT - DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE
Death Cab has this ability to evoke really strong emotions with every song they write. I heard this one and I felt so safe, I could take a nap naked on New York's shadiest subway.

9 YOU TURN ME ON I'M A RADIO - JONI MITCHELL
I love Joni Mitchell. She has a beautiful spirit and it shows in her music. This song is so fun. And I like to think of myself as a radio. Cool.

10 TRY (JUST A LITTLE BIT HARDER) - JANIS JOPLIN
This woman is my hero. She never holds anything back when she sings. She rips her heart out and shoves it in your face with every song!

11 NOBODY KNOWS ME AT ALL - THE WEEPIES
Sad title, but I thinks it's a happy song. Even if people will never know you, you know yourself. It makes me fell very content.

12 CLOUDY - SIMON AND GARFUNKEL
Simon and Garfunkel are the best. Such poetry. I love the image of a "finger-painted smile".

13 YEARS - MIKE RUEKBERG
Every word in this song rings true and it reminds me not to sit around missing opportunities. "You don't get those years back".

14 LAYLA - ERIC CLAPTON
I pray I find a man who will write a song like this for me. His desperation is so powerful. The guitar practically scream! And then there's this beautiful soothing piano section. Perfect.

15 BOTH SIDES NOW - JONI MITCHELL
This song is so wise. And Joni's images are so concrete. A song about life.

16 BROWN EYED GIRL - VAN MORRISON
I try to be everybody's brown-eyed girl.

17 HAVE A LITTLE FAITH IN ME - JOHN HIATT
This song is like the nirvana for a relationship between any two people. The sentiment. I like to cry my eyes out to this song. I have a lot of faith in John.

18 ALL THESE THINGS THAT I'VE DONE - THE KILLERS
A song about mistakes. But when I hear it, I'm left with the hope of a wonderful future. It's unapologetic too and I like that. "I got soul, but I'm not a soldier."

19 MAMA - MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE
The rage in this so is so intense. I love to drive really fast with this song turned all the way up.

20 WAITING FOR MY REAL LIFE TO BEGIN - COLIN HAY
How does this guy know? Beautiful song.

21 IN MY LIFE - THE BEATLES
I really appreciate life after I hear this one. The love is quiet, but so real. It's like going through a photo album.

22 PILGRIM - ENYA
I love Enya. Nothing beats listening to this song on a gray day. It invokes a need to search your soul.

23 THE PREDATORY WASP OF THE PALISADES IS OUT TO GET US! - SUFJAN STEVENS
Sufjan Stevens is the most original artist since Hendrix. I am convinces. And this song is so gorgeous it makes me want to cry! He makes the everyday things glorious.

24 MORE THAN A FEELING - BOSTON
I think if an song could actually cause me to leave the ground an fly, this would be the one.

25 SO MUCH BEAUTY IN DIRT - MODEST MOUSE
I'm not a Modest Mouse fan, but I like what this song says. "So much beauty it could make you cry." I can really relate to that.
